And so Scott chimes in with "goals are not the enemy". Well, well let's get all philosophical. Now Scott makes the “I am not a fan of” list. The list is getting too long. I may have to adjust my thinking.
Run - 43:26 time, distance? a little less than 5 miles, Probable around a 9 minute pace.

Seems like your run pace is getting faster. True? With my Garmin I can no longer cheat and favorably estimate distance. Thus I have gotten "slower." 9:05 for a 7 mile run yesterday (longest of new year).
I might have the same problem if I had a Garmin.
How do you like yours? Worth the money?
I have had one for a year. Great for training and pacing. It keeps all the data you would ever need and then some. I can't train without it anymore. I have not quite figured it out for races. Good Luck!!
Love the Garmin. Use it running and biking. Used it today on the bike but always a good idea to turn it on before you are 10 miles into the ride. Scott is right about the data.
On the Garmin cost, I got mine a Forerunner 305 (w/HR monitor) for $199. Normally $349 but I think the price has dropped because the new Garmin 405 will be out soon if not already.
What's this?? Getting new gear? What happened to "triing-not-so-hard"?? Well, you better get some gear and energy drinks, I hear Peter has you registerred in a 70.3 in the fall!!
