tri-ing not so hard: Granbury

Saturday Granbury ride.
Pecan Plantation has to be the best place in Texas to ride a bike.
Smooth asphalt roads, little traffic and fairly flat.
27 miles, 18mph ave.
I wish I could ride there every week.

2009 EVENTS CALENDAR

- Cowtown 1/2 Marathon, 2-28: Grade B+, good race, best pacing yet. 2:05

- CaveMan Sprint, 4-26: Grade B, pool swim, good warm up tri. Just down the street.

- Shiner GASP 100 mile bike, 5-2, very very hard, lots of wind,no fun. Poor support. Do MS150 next year.

- TexasMan Sprint, 5-17, Grade A, tried hard, 2nd place, good result.

- Tour d' Italia 62 miles, 6-21, Good ride a little windy. Like this event.

- DiscoMan Olympic, 7-19, Grade C, did not train much, run bad, overall not unhappy though.

- Goat Neck 70 miles, 7-26, getting stronger on the bike. Should have drank more.

- HH100, 8-25, Grade A+, Outstanding ride. 20.3 MPH Average 5:34 time. GREAT

-Tour de Cure 68 miles, 9-12, solid rain. Not a bad ride after vacation.

- US Open Sprint 10-11, Grade B, cold, wet, got lost on a 500 yard swim. Too much trouble to do. Skip next year.

Grade A-. March 17 - St. Patrick's Day Sprint Triathlon, 1:18:09
Grade Fun. April 7 - Tour Dallas - Rita's first ride. 30 mile tour of Dallas, Great time, snowed
Grade A. April 22 - Playtry Festival - Olympic, 2:45:43, great support, lost a six pack of beer
Grade D. May 5 & 6 - MS150 - not enough training, not enough nutrition, very disappointing
Grade B+. June 10 -Metroplex Tri, everything went pretty well.
Grade B+. June 16 - Tour d'Italia, 50 mile bike ride - rode 50 with no stops, 2:46 - good time
Grade B+. July 14 - Peach Pedal, 60 mile bike ride - Time 3:22 - good time
Grade B. July 28 - Tour De Goatneck - much better than last year
Brade B+. August 25 - HH100, Time 6:32 need to finish stronger
Grade B. September 16 - Texas Man Triathlon Olympic, Time 3.02, actually very happy just to complete this one.
Grade S for stupid. Oct. 14, Turkey Trot 72 miles, I just had to add one more bike ride. I did not train for a long ride and it showed.
Grade B - Dec. 9 - White Rock Half Marathon, 2:06 not bad for my first 13.1
