Dang. I mean dang. The strongest wind that I have ever biked in. I got dropped after about 6 miles. Man I need some work. 11 - 12 mph on the flats into the wind.
My only motivation was knowing at some point the wind would be at my back. The only good news is that my new wireless computer worked well.
23.78 miles
16.9 ave mph (higher than I expected)
76 ave cadence
1:27 time
159 AHR (that's some hard work on a bike)

I agree that wind was a beating but hopefully it builds character (and legs) to ride in that stuff. I thought the toughest part was when those 30mph gusts were hitting us as cross winds. definitely challenging.
I got up to run this morning and the wind was still howling. I couldn't brave it again and went to the treadmill for my run.
I remember that day. You know it is windy when you are riding at 27 mph with the wind and your sweat still goes forward.
