CAC SWIM

Met another DA athlete last night at CAC. We talked after the swim. He is training for a full IM. You might ask me if I am jealous? Jealous - no, envious - yes. It would be like being jealous of Tiger Wood’s golf game. You can’t be jealous of something that you can’t do, but unlike Tiger’s game I can gain on the young man (that’s right, he was younger than me). I did notice that I could swim as fast as he could, not that we were competing or anything.
With the awesome peer pressure that I am under (Peter) I may raise the bar to a HIM at the Texas Man. Anyway, a nice swim with just the two of us in the pool.
200 wm, 5x100, 3x150, 30 min. @ HIM pace. approx. 3,000

Wow 3,000 yards is one serious swim workout. Obviously the 1.2 mile swim for the HIM will not be a problem for you. Speaking of peer pressure, I had listed TexasMan on my 2007 calendar, but unlike all the other races didn't commit to a distance. Then I saw Scott Maness had the magical "half ironman" words on his calendar by TexasMan so I followed suit. I look forward to training with some of my "old" teammates.

I guess there are worse kinds of peer presure.
Like we talk before - the run concerns me. But don't forget about the added pressure of the "open" water.
I plan on putting is some time a Grapenvine this year.
I only made it twice before the TxMan.

I will be joining the Half Ironman training class beginning in April, if anybody wants to join me!!

Scott, April sounded early to me but I checked the DA website and TexasMan HIM 20 week program starts April 30. Bryan and I have been discussing whether to do a formal DA training program. I think we're on the fence but if you're in that makes it more attractive.
