Tuesday's Duathon

Bought new NIke running shoes from Run On with neutral pronation. I had bought my previous shoes at Sports Authority with no help and did not even know that they had mild pronation. The Run On salesperson thought “neutral” might help my foot. I hope that I am not just throwing money at my foot.
So, Tuesday I put 3 miles on the treadmill at 8:40 pace. We will see how the foot feels. Also, swam laps for 30 min. after the run. Approx. 1500 it seems that 2 min. for 100 is a good long term pace. I will bring the time down for the 300 at St. Patty’s Tri.

Bryan, remember the swim for St Patty's will be 300 meters (328 yards) If you estimate a 6:00 minute swim time that is 1:49 per 100 yds. I am thinking of going with an estimate of 5:45 for swim time which is 1:45 /100 yards. Like you I can go at 2:00/100 yards for 600 yards. And this swim will be only half of that. Should we be even more aggressive on the time?

See you at the swim tonight?

Oh, Peter, why weren't you a mathmatician? You and your calculations! Good job Bryan, on your swim. I estimated high so I can beat it:-) How are the feet today after the new shoes yesterday?

D, just trying to offer some friendly advice.

Bryan, the good news is the lanes on the Keller pool are wide, you'll have room to pass all those people you should have lined up in front of!

Can I use a flotation device? I need real help in the pool. I guess I will have to use one of DeAnne's sticks to practice with. I also put down a time of 6:30. See ya at the start line Mr. Morrison. Mr. Peter can you check my math for me also?

I'm going with 5:45. I swam with Bryan tonight and he will need to be doing some serious passing seeding himself at 6:30. Remember half the people who put 6:30 can't really swim that fast. They are shall we say aggressive estimators ... like me:-)

Check out the triathlon calculators I added to my site. If you haven't used them before they are really cool.

I guess I will move up in the line once we get there.
I can't let Peter get out of the water first because after that I will get left behind.
